sounds, sights, smells, tastes, sensations, thoughts and emotions. I say simply, but it can be tremendously difficult to stay in a mindful place for even some of our day. We mostly don’t realise how much we are pulled away from experiencing the present moment, pulled into planning and anticipating the experiences of the future, and pulled into reflections and ruminations about the past. Not only can this mean we miss the beauty and joy of the present moment, but also that we can experience stress and anxiety about the future, or distress from ruminations about the past.
The MBSR programme is an 8-week programme designed as both introductory and intensive training in mindfulness. It was developed as a way of helping people with chronic pain and associated stress, but it really is for anyone. Anyone who wants to improve their wellbeing by reducing stress or anxiety or fatigue, or improve their sleep or positive outlook on life.
The MBSR is a programme based around practicing to be in the present moment. The well-tested way of doing this is through meditation, so the programme will have lots of meditation. We will meet one evening each week for 2 hours where we’ll discuss the week’s practice and introduce some new content. There will be home practice of meditation for 30-mins per day, at least 5 days per week, as well as some smaller mindfulness tasks.
The programme can be delivered for a group, which can be useful to learn from others’ experiences, or 1:1 with a personal coach, which can be useful if you would benefit from more discussion around your personal experience. Vibrantly Tranquil offers both.
Vibrantly Tranquil also offers 1:1 coaching on developing or deepening a meditation practice, bespoke guided meditations to help move through blockages, open up to possibilities, or simply be by your side as you walk your meditation journey.
